QUOTE ME SAYING I WAS MISQUOTED.

Just saying…

I’m very thankful to have weekly opportunities to reach people with wellness and fitness advice through media/press.  Every so often I’m placed in a position to clarify what’s written.  In this article it’s mentioned

Joggers, for instance, should sign up for some spinning classes; if yoga’s your thing, switch it up for pilates or weight-lifting sessions with a trainer.

This is NOT advice or a quote from me.  Professionally speaking, a jogger typically obtains more benefits then just burning calories and staying trim from their jogging. They utilize that time to mentally and emotionally process (mind workout) and balance themselves chemically.  A jogger needing to mix their programs up should perform exercise options that will not interfere physically with their first love of jogging.  I suggest treadmill incline walking, 30 second interval stairclimber walks (meaning 30 seconds at a slow level 2-5, and 30 seconds at a higher level of 7 or higher), or any fitness class that utilizes their own body weight as the resistance. I would also suggest if a jogger is switching their exercise program away from jogging they should still fulfill the mind workout benefits with a meditation practice such as Emily Fletchers, Ziva Meditation.  A Jogger switching to spinning classes could find the range of movement and aggressive intervals too impacting on their joints and muscles. Sprinters could benefit from spinning (Soul Cycle).

Also mentioned in the article “if yoga’s your thing, switch it up for pilates or weight-lifting sessions with a trainer”. I disagree, someone who takes yoga regularly looking to mix it up, should invest in a resistance training program using resistance bands or dyna-bands, even something like my Ultimate Perfect Workout DVD. This will be a non-invasive exercise program that will aid in building strength and stamina. A Weight-Lifting program could put strain on a yoga persons connective tissue, tendons and muscles.  Gradually they could progress to that type of training if they so desire  but I rarely come across a yoga enthusiast that wants to workout at Venice Golds Gym.

I invest time, energy and information with such articles so that readers will understand this is just the beginning of the discussion.  Most publications and writers are courteous enough to provide my website link or twitter so readers can reach out with specific questions or outreach to me directly with private wellness matters.  It’s my goal to continuously make myself available online and through my private skype consultations via www.craigramsayfitness.com  .

fit and fabulous on Derek and Romaine

Listen here to listen!….. CRSiriusXM

Being back home for more than 2 counts of quick 8’s we finally invested in Sirius Satelite.  WE ARE HOOKED! The hours of enjoyment spent in the car with our travels and in L.A traffic are now filled OUTQ, BROADWAY AND the 80’s station.  Needless to say we have been listening to the Derek & Romaine show and we have accumulated some important questions and clarifications on things we have heard recently.  So you can imagine how thrilled we were to be asked to join them last night at their live broadcast at the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center.  We get answers to:

-Why the hell have they not been a team on Amazing Race yet?

-Did Romaine really throw a tantrum and a protest sit while ziplining on their cruise last month?

-Can we borrow Romaine’s bike for the Aids Lifecycle?  As ours were stolen! LOL

-Who would Romaine and Derek choose as a partner for the amazing race if we had to split up the teams? Craig or Brandon?

These answers and more. Click and listen, share and comment, and if you don’t have Sirius Satelite yet, what the hell are you waiting for?

“WE ARE EACH OTHERS ACCOUNTIBILA-BUDDY” – JENNI

MY RICKI LAKE SHOW BRIDE, JENNI, SHARES HER JOURNEY…

Excerpts from Jenni’s blog

Week 1 Starting Weight 216 lbs

Within hours of arriving back in NY, I learned that a friend had passed away earlier that morning — at the tender age of 27, from a heart attack no less.

I very much wanted some comfort food. I opened my cabinet and reached for the pasta box….but then, I stopped.  For the first time in my life, I was aware of my behavior and my emotional connection with food.

I’m going to take this challenge to not only transform physically but mentally.

Week 2 – 9.8lbs lost

Making this experience public has given me a sense of responsibility I’ve never had before and feel the tides changing down to my toes. This time will be different, I will succeed and we will do it together.

Week 3 – 13.5 lbs lost

Think less like a flower, and more like a prepubescent 13 year old boy. It’s about to get a little TMI in here, but I am one stinky lady!

My name is Jenni and I am recovering girdle-holic and I am happy to report that I am going on three weeks girdle free! I have been wearing a girdle since I was 12 years old.

My clothes are getting a little looser and I am getting PUMPED to see how I will look in my wedding dress.

Week 4 – 14lbs lost

I finally did it. I reached the dreaded plateau. I worked my butt out all week and outside of my wedding cake tasting (yum!) ate really healthy. In theory I did everything I was suppose to, so why in the H-E-Double Hocky Sticks didn’t I lose any weight this week?

since I didn’t see a change on the scale, I decided to test my blood sugar. I’ve been nervous about this moment for many reasons, mainly because I was scared of seeing a high number and what that might mean with my history of diabetes.

All week, I tested with finger sticks, one fasting, one after each meal, one just for the hell of it. All NORMAL. With no meds just exercise and portion control and better meal choices.

Please show your support and follow Jenni’s journey!
