I was recently in a discussion with someone regarding Jeremy Piven’s health concern about “mercury toxicity”. It forced him to leave a Broadway show he was in. I wish i had gotten this tip over to him back in 2008! Scientists from Purdue University reported that black and green teas reduced mercury absorption by as much as 92% when ingested with mercury-contaminated mackerel. Did you know that even small trace amounts of this dangerous element can damage your heart, blood vessels and central nervous system. So next time you order that Spicy Tuna Roll (no mayo!), be sure to drink a cup of tea with your meal… Irasshaimase!
