Brandon’s Fabulous Beauty Tips

28 Sep

Oral hygiene is very important but most mouthwashes contains certain kinds of alcohol and other ingredients that can cause cancer or damage the esophagus. Washing your mouth out with soap sounds more like a favor than a punishment when you think about it in the long run!  Fresh breath is not worth cancer, so stay away from products that have been scientifically linked to this deadly disease.

Boil 2 cups of water. Add in 1 teaspoon of fresh organic mint leaves, 1 teaspoon of organic cloves and 1 teaspoon of organic rosemary leaves. Let this boil for about 20 minutes. If you are a person who loves to feel the burn add 2 oz of vodka to the boiling water. Let it cool and store it in a sealed jar and now your ready to get swishy with it.

Lip and cheek stains are a great way to enhance your natural beauty. They create an even color and a matte finish, simply perfect . Lip stains will stay on longer than other lip products, even when wet. It actually stains your skin,  creating a beautiful color from the inside rather than on top.  You’ll need berries, coffee, and olive or almond oil.

The berries you choose will be determined by the hue you pursue.  Berries can give you colors ranging from pinks and reds to blues and purples. Mix different berries together or just use one kind. Place approximately four berries into a small mixing bowl and use a spoon to mash them up. Have a cup of already-prepared coffee to darken any color that you create by simply mixing in a few drops. Add  a spoonful of olive oil with your mashed berries and mix well. You can simply adjust the color and texture to your liking by adding berries, coffee or olive oil.

There is no exact science to this, it’s all about preference. The berries stain and the rest just add depth and texture. Now apply your lip stain. Just use your finger or a cotton swab to distribute the stain across your lips or cheeks. Apply a generous amount, allowing it to set for a few minutes. Remove the excess and your lips will be left with a fruity flush. For a fabuluster lacquer apply FASELINE ( see my natural Vaseline tip) over the top!

Aim to make eye contact with everyone you meet.  You’ll make a positive impression on others and instantly feel more alert and empowered.  You will directly and instantly connect with others and others will connect with you.  Remember it’s not a staring match, but not being able to read someone through eye contact usually means you are not only avoiding them but yourself as well.

Cracked Out Over Shells!

Crack that shell people!

If you are a chip or salt craver, try unsalted pistachio nuts, walnuts in the shell, or peanuts – they curb your cravings for saltier, unhealthy junk food, plus you are keeping your fingers busy, slowing down the eating process giving your mind and stomach the chance to agree that you are full. Kids love the game of cracking shells and working for their food too.  It will be our little secret that you are teaching them good eating habits of slowing down and enjoying the eating process.

Mark Nelson has been so supportive of me over the years, providing me great advice, connections, and at times just the necessary kind words to motivate me even further.

I casually mentioned to Mark about six months ago how much I love amusement parks.  THANK GOODNESS I MENTIONED THIS, cause I couldn’t have been more excited when he asked my fabulous partner, Brandon Liberati of Logo’s “RuPaul’s Drag U”, and I to help host his 9th Annual Fairgrounds:  Out at Night 2012.  My fellow hosts included Joe Gorga and Melissa Gorga from Bravo’s “Real Housewives of New Jersey”, Reichen Lehnkuhl from Logo’s “The A List: New York”, and Recording Artist, Dina Marie Delicious.  Special thank you to Broadway Photographer, Bruce Glikas, for providing these terrific photos.

We all know about using dark eye shadow to cover grey, but what do you do for grown out highlights? Between visits to your colorist touch up trashy roots by spraying a light hairspray onto them and depending on what hue your highlights are use any shimmering gold or brown eye shadow over the top! This is only for a temporary fab fix… get an appointment pronto!

Saturday Spotlight!

Hi  friends!

My very talented friend, Julie Neumark is in the midst of recording her second album with some top notch players/producers…and she is doing it all on her own with help only from friends, fans and believers! Her campaign is almost over. She has raised $6,141 so far and 3% of that will go to Born This Way Foundation. With 7 days left, I am writing to ask you all to help her “step out of the box” of her own friends, family and fans and spread the word of this campaign in hopes of reaching the goal of $10,000 by Sept 29.

So, you may ask, what is the “word” she is trying to spread? Let me ask you this: have you listened to music today? How did it make you feel? Was it a song from your childhood that brought back memories? Were the lyrics seemingly written for a situation you are currently experiencing? Did it just make you want to dance? These are all of the reasons she is doing what she is doing.
Music is an art form and one of the COOLEST things about art is it’s ability to make us feel….and heal.

***FYI – she is giving away her very first guitar (Fender acoustic electric) autographed personally for you. The original price tag for obtaining this rock n roll beast was $2,000. SHE HAS NOW LOWERED THE PRICE TO $1,250!!!

Thanks again for ALL of your support…please share this with your friends and family who might take an interest!

“So I think this is the best costume for the day”

21 Sep

Spoken by Edith “Little Edie” Bouvier Beale in the documentary, Grey Gardens,  “So I think this is the best costume for the day.”

Little Edie was right in that you should always dress the part.  Whether at the office, a dinner event or at the gym, you can tell a great deal about someone by their style of clothing.  There is a saying that Brandon Liberati has mentioned to me on many occasions.  Spend twice as much, buy half as much.  Rather than buying a bunch of cheap clothes, buy half as many high quality items.  I had hesitations in executing this advice because I go through so many clothes being a fitness expert. When I stumbled across MPG (Mondetta Performance Gear) activewear clothing line,  I found the stamina of the clothes matched the stamina of my workouts.  To date I have not had to discard any MPG wear.  Yes it might not be the least expensive clothes but the love between MPG and I is mutual.

And as a messenger of the MPG activewear brand I’d like to officially invite you to experience MPG with this exclusive 25% off online discount code.

Discount Code:  CRAIGXMPG2012

Please note, one time use only per customer on regular priced products.  Cannot be combined with other discounts or special offers.  Offer expires 12/31/2012.

We are heading into the seasons when a lot of my clients start to experience dandruff problems. Keep it in check by crushing two aspirins to a fine powder and adding it to the normal amount of shampoo you use each time you wash your hair. Leave the mixture on your hair for 1-2 minutes, then rinse well and wash again with your plain shampoo. Let’s keep the snow on the ground this winter!
