Runyon Canyon Hike

10 Aug

By Skinny Assistant Kevin Rhodes

Hi, everyone.  While Fit and Fabulous, Craig Ramsay and Brandon Liberati,  are off planning some exciting stuff for the blog, Craig asked me to write a little post about one of my exercise routines.

Runyon Canyon Park Hike

Runyon Canyon Trail is a 3.5 mile loop trail located near Los Angeles, California that offers scenic views and is rated as moderate. I am not so sure about that.  The trail is primarily used for hiking & trail running and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

There is one trail in the park called Suicide hike and it is basically straight up. Well not really, but it seems like it.  These are some pics and a video I took yesterday.

During this part of the hike, “Pressure” by Billy Joel was playing on my iPod and boy were my legs feeling the pressure.  The views of Los Angeles from Runyon are spectacular.

I stopped to take a picture of Craig and Brandon’s place and it’s funny but as soon as I stopped my iPod began playing “Borrowed Angels” sung by Kristin Chenowith.  How very appropriate.

I completed the trail in 1 hour and 18 minutes.  Not as good as I did when I was with Craig (our time was 1 hour and 10 minutes), but I am very proud of my achievement.

Craig and I on Runyon on my 49th Birthday!

Fit and Fabulous running on Runyon!

So what are your fitness achievements today?

Love that Skinny Assistant Kevin gets to get a word in once in a while. Congrats on your success Kevin! The only thing I know about Runyon Canyon is the crazy things that Jolie Jenkins has observed. Watch out for the Bikini Sandwich Lady!

I can’t say that I have ever seen the Bikini Sandwich Lady! Frankly, I was just wondering if she was eating one of the healthy sandwiches. Thanks for the congrats! It’s a continuing journey but being on the Fit and Fab team is amazing. Now, the thought of that sub have made me hungry. :)
